South Indian Rice Chips
Also known as Chekkalu, Nippattu, or Thattai, GaaRelu are a festive favorite made during Sankranti across South India. Traditionally prepared to celebrate the harvest, they bring together the joy of community, crunch, and spice.
At Sahrudaya, we make GaaRelu using a traditional recipe paired with Indrayni rice, a fragrant native variety from Maval Taluka. These chips are naturally gluten-free, handcrafted from unpolished rice and lentils, and fried once in fresh sunflower oil (never reused).
A timeless festive bite, reimagined for guilt-free, everyday snacking.
