Multi Daal & Rice Chaklis
In every Maharashtrian home, Bhajni Chakli marks the beginning of Diwali faral, a symbol of celebration, togetherness, and patience. The word bhajni comes from “bhajane,” meaning to roast, a technique perfected by grandmothers who roasted rice, lentils, and spices to create a flour blend that was both light and nourishing.
This age-old recipe has its roots in rural Maharashtra, where every family had their own version of bhajni peeth passed down through generations.
At Sahrudaya, we preserve this tradition by using stone-ground rice, millets, and dals to make chaklis that are crisp yet easy to digest, made the slow way, just as they were in village kitchens. A festive favorite reborn for mindful, everyday snacking.
